Your first psychotherapy appointment will take the form of an assessment. This will both gauge whether the problems you are having are suitable for treatment with CBT, and give you the opportunity to talk with the therapist to see if the approach is likely to suit you.

You are welcome to call and talk to a therapist if you are unsure if you would like to book an assessment session.

Office Address:

Efficacy, 1 Warwick Row, Victoria, London, SW1E 5ER

Efficacy, 2nd & 3rd Floor Suite, 6 St Mary at Hill, Monument, London, EC3R 8EE

Email: Efficacy@LondonCBT.co.uk
Telephone: 020 7808 7900

We attempt to answer all calls personally but if we cannot do so, please leave a message and a therapist will return your call as soon as possible. We will respect your privacy when returning calls and will not leave a message identifying ourselves unless you have stated otherwise in your own message.

You can also request a personal call from the on line contact form

CBT is not for everyone

If, following your initial assessment, the therapist concluding that CBT is not appropriate, time will be given to explaining the reasons and alternative suggestions will be offered. These may include a different form of psychotherapy, seeing a specialist to discuss medication issues or perhaps recommending some literature.

If you are finding it too hard to cope

When your mood is low it can sometimes lead to thinking that there is no way out. if you are feeling very low and are having thoughts that you do not want to go on, we recommend that you talk this over with someone close, or your GP or other health care professional. If you do not feel that you are at immediate risk of self-harm, contact a therapist at Efficacy. We do have experience of helping people with these feelings but the service cannot offer a crisis intervention service. If you are in a crisis we recommend you contact your GP or other health care professional. You can also click on the link to the Samaritans or NHS Direct.
